This pink to reddish-fruited indeterminate tomato has become a local favorite among Gainesville gardeners since we introduced it from Hammock Hollow Farm in 2020. Farmers Charley and Christine Andrews of Hammock Hollow Farm in Island Grove, Florida have cared for this special tomato for over 12 years (as of 2026), and we are excited to share its story and seeds with you!
The story begins with a field worker named Conie (pronounced Coo-knee), who noticed an unusual plant growing among rows of cherry tomatoes, the specific variety long forgotten... It looked different from its neighbors and had an exceptional flavor, so they saved seeds from this “off-type” misfit year after year. Over time, it proved itself to be a hardy, stocky, disease-resistant, and highly productive tomato. Charley named it Conie Pink in honor of the person who noticed this.
Conie Pink has a nostalgic, classic backyard tomato flavor—rich, sweet, and perfectly balanced. Its slightly thicker skin holds up well for fresh eating, cooking, and sauces. The fruits are juicy and flavorful, with the kind of taste many gardeners associate with old-fashioned heirloom tomatoes from the backyard.
Like many treasured open-pollinated varieties, Conie Pink shows some natural variation. Fruits may range from cherry-sized to medium slicers, and some plants produce beautifully ribbed fruit. We celebrate this diversity—it’s part of what makes this variety unique.
A hardy, delicious, and charming tomato for Florida gardens, Conie Pink is a true local treasure we think you’ll love growing.
